So this is the first porcelain pieces, the writing came out well but I don’t think I made the handle sharp enough.
Probably the least fun part but I’ve done four now so only six to go :’)
I’m starting to really visualise the end work of this project, I’ve made a set of maquettes here that are heading in the right direction I think.
I’ve been trying out porcelain for the first time and so far I love it, the textures amazing and it picks up details so well.
On the last image I’ve pushed the porcelain into a plaster tile I’ve made but I quite like the forms it makes in the process.
These are two plaster tiles I’ve made so far, they relate to stories I’ve heard of my Great-Granddad.
These two images are from Truro cathedral, I’ve been thinking of ways to show a narrative in ceramics and I’m finding this piece very inspiring.
